Charity Beneficiary
The 2009 beneficiary of the TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10K is Maine Handicapped Skiing.
TD Banknorth, through the TD Charitable Foundation, will provide a cash donation to MHS of $30,000. Maine Handicapped Skiing will also benefit from fundraising activities and publicity associated with the race.
Maine Handicapped Skiing is the largest year-round adaptive recreation program in the state of Maine for children and adults with physical disabilities. MHS provides over 3700 lessons in winter and summer, free of charge and with the help of over 390 volunteers. Lessons include alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, cycling, golf and paddling at venues throughout the state.
